15 contestants vie for 2024 Ms. Bacolod MassKara crown

BACOLOD City – The Bacolod Yuhum Foundation Inc. (BYFI) officially introduced 15 candidates competing for the Miss Bacolod MassKara 2024 crown during a Sashing Ceremony and Press Presentation held on September 29 at SM City Bacolod.

The contestants are Ella Gozon, Quennie Kuan, Sophia Kaye Zaragoza, Angelica Gwen Tenero, Princess Ella Olmilla, Jhudiel Micha, Maris Lianda, Bea Tricia De La Peña, Mary Heloise Ginson, Gesille Mae Sullivan, Gwyn Maricon Lopez, Jasmine Mahilum, Ed Marie Aguilar, Cailah Jhane Delarma, and Akeisha Nicole Nuarin.

During the event, candidate No. 7, Valencia, stood out and was named Darling of the Press.

A third-year Business Administration student at the University of Saint La Salle-Bacolod, Valencia captivated the media with her advocacy to raise awareness and empower persons with disabilities (PWDs). She also aims to expand a school-based program for PWDs that she initiated at USLS.

“With this project, I hope to help Bacolod City evolve into a leading, inclusive community where no one is left behind,” Valencia said.

The candidates delighted the audience, wearing the Limited Edition MassKCAREra Cynefin Collection shirts by Mangkas Apparel.

Kuster Cadagat, Secretary and Festival Director for Cultural and Accredited Events, expressed optimism about the batch’s potential. “This year’s contestants are seen as strong contenders, capable of competing in national beauty pageants,” Cadagat remarked.

The candidates also shared their advocacies, goals, and interests in a video presentation shown during the event.

Upcoming pageant activities include the Talent Competition and Festival Costume Competition at Ayala Malls Capitol Central on October 5 and 12, followed by Corporate Day at SM City Bacolod on October 13. The grand pageant night will be held on October 19./PN
