ILOILO City – A 15-year-old lad drowned at a beach resort in Barangay Poblacion South, Oton, Iloilo.
The victim was only identified as a certain “Gilmer” of Barangay Ticuan Leon, Iloilo, a police report showed.
According to police investigators, Gilmer was dragged by the strong currents after he and his relatives went for a swim at Villa Azul Beach Resort around 3:40 p.m. on Feb. 26.
Rescuers retrieved the victim’s body 40 minutes later. He was rushed to the Iloilo Doctor’s Hospital in Molo district but was declared dead./PN
