ILOILO City –The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) arrested 16 individuals, including four high-value targets, during a 24-hour anti-drug operation across Western Visayas.

From 6 a.m. on October 1 to 5:59 a.m. on October 2, various police units also netted approximately 330 grams of suspected shabu valued at around P2,244,000.

The largest single haul came from the Iloilo City Police Office. It seized P816,000 worth of illegal drugs. The Iloilo Police Provincial Office followed with the seizure of P782,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Also, the Bacolod City Police Office confiscated P340,000 worth of illegal drugs and the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office seized suspected shabu valued at approximately P251,600.

These successful operations underscored the ongoing efforts of PRO-6 to dismantle major players in the illegal drug trade.

“Our focus is on eradicating all levels of the illegal drug supply chain. By apprehending these high-value targets alongside street-level dealers, we are striking at the core of the drug trade in Western Visayas,” said PRO-6 director Brigadier General Jack Wanky.

All suspects are now under police custody. They are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
