SAN JOSE, Antique – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has released wages of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced (TUPAD) workers in the province last week.
DOLE provincial labor and employment officer Virginia Misajon said around 16,000 TUPAD workers in Antique receive their salaries.
“DOLE has started to release the wages of the TUPAD workers last May 9,” said Misajon.
She added the TUPAD workers in towns of Belison, Sebaste and Caluya received their wages for their first 15 days of work.
“We hope to finish releasing the TUPAD wages throughout the province within two weeks- time,” Misajon said.
Misajon noted the town of Belison has 1,080 TUPAD workers, Sebaste has 633, and Caluya has 236.
The TUPAD workers in these municipalities were the first to get their salaries.
“They have to submit first their daily time record, accomplishment report and picture of the worker or beneficiary in order to claim their wages,” Misajon said (With a report from PNA/PN)
