AKLAN – Seventeen inspiring women were officially introduced as contestants for the prestigious Binibini ng Kalibo Ati-Atihan 2025 during a press conference held at the Kalibo Municipal Hall on Saturday, January 4.

Organized by the Aklan Media Integrated Alliance (AMIA), the event also marked the launch of the Miss AMIA award, a recognition for candidates who best embody cultural pride and community involvement.

The contestants, hailing from various backgrounds, shared personal stories reflecting their passion for Kalibo’s vibrant cultural heritage. During a lively question and answer session, they demonstrated their commitment to representing media values, cultural advocacy, and active community service, underscoring the pageant’s unique focus on substance alongside beauty and grace.

The press conference heightened anticipation for the upcoming Ati-Atihan Festival, a beloved tradition that celebrates Aklan’s rich history and traditions. The coronation night, set for January 10, promises to be a highlight of the festivities, culminating in the crowning of the new Binibini ng Kalibo Ati-Atihan.

This year’s Miss AMIA winner will receive a cash prize of P5,000, a three-day, two-night stay at a luxurious resort in Boracay, and ceremonial items including a bouquet, sash, and certificate.

The event offered a glimpse into the dedication of the candidates as they prepare for the prestigious competition, setting the tone for a celebration that bridges Kalibo’s cultural legacy with contemporary aspirations./PN
