BACOLOD City – An 18-year-old woman was wounded in a shooting incident in Sitio Pantayanan, Barangay Concepcion, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
Resident Emmalyn Dela Cruz sustained a gunshot wound on the back, a police report showed.
The suspect was identified as 53-year-old resident Rogelio Trecho.
According to police investigation, Trecho went to Dela Cruz’s house looking for the victim’s father Allan around 8:30 p.m. on June 26.
Upon seeing Allan, Trecho peppered him with bullets, the report added.
Emmalyn, who was lying inside their house, was hit by a bullet when she stood up.
Police said Allan – who was unhurt – retaliated against Trecho using his .45-caliber pistol.
Trecho fled after the incident but was later arrested in a hot pursuit operation.
Recovered from the crime scene were a .45 pistol, a magazine, and a cartridge.
Emmalyn was brought to Riverside Medical Center for treatment.
Police have yet to identify the motive of the shooting./PN
