ILOILO City – He stole two T-shirts and two jackets, police said.
Accused of shoplifting, an 18-year-old resident of Barangay San Pedro, Jaro district was arrested.
Nolito Gocela was taken to the Jaro police station.
Personnel of a mall on E. Lopez Street, Jaro caught Gocela at around 7 p.m. on Monday, a police report showed.
Gocela allegedly took the clothing items – worth a total of P7,000 – without paying for them.
The suspect told the police he had no money to pay for the clothes.
Police nab ‘drug dealer’ on JM Basa
Police arrested a suspected drug dealer on JM Basa Street, City Proper on Tuesday.
The 46-year-old Angelito Roga of Barangay Zamora, City Proper was detained in the lockup cell of Police Station 1.
Officers seized from Roga three plastic packs of shabu.
These were on top of one sachet of the same substance he sold to an undercover officer for P600 at 6:45 a.m., police said.
Roga tried to resist but was eventually subdued.
He faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Man sans gun license jailed
His lack of license to possess a .45 pistol caused a 40-year-old man’s arrest in Barangay Bigki, Leganes, Iloilo.
Officers patrolling the village at 8:30 p.m. Monday spotted Jerome Jolipas with a firearm tucked in his waist, a police report showed.
The officers seized the .45 pistol loaded with seven bullets.
When he failed to show his license, Jolipas was detained at the Leganes police station.
The resident of Barangay Camangay, Leganes faces a charge for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Jaro estafa suspect falls
Wanted for an estafa charge, a resident of Barangay Tabuc Suba, Jaro district was arrested.
The 32-year-old Ricardo Fallacorina was detained at the Jaro police station.
He will have to shell out P18,000 – the bail bond set by the court – for his temporary liberty.
It was not immediately clear as of this writing if the suspect has posted bail.
Officers served him a warrant of arrest at 10:40 p.m. on Monday in Barangay Lopez Jaena, Jaro, a police report showed.
Judge Gonzalo Espa of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court issued the warrant against the suspect./PN
