ILOILO – Barangay Poblacion in San Dionisio town was locked down on Saturday after recording 19 cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Mayor Darwin Bajada issued Executive Order No. 47 imposing such for five days from 6 p.m. of June 5 to 6 p.m. of June 10.
The municipal health officer, on the other hand, recommended tracing those who came in close contact with the infected residents.
Bajada ordered the following quarantine measures:
* No unnecessary travel. Residents are advised to stay home. But there’s an exemption: persons who need immediate medical care.
* All close or first generation contacts that were swabbed on June 5 and living outside the locked down area must be placed in isolation and prohibited from going out of their houses or quarantine rooms.
* All persons vulnerable to the severity of COVID-19 such as those who are 60 years old and above, and 17 years old and below, pregnant women, and those with immunodeficiency, comorbidities, or other health risks residing at Barangay Poblacion are prohibited to go out of their houses.
* Only authorized persons are allowed to enter and leave Barangay Poblacion and these are the members of Municipal Inter-Agency Task Force Against COVID-19, personnel distributing food and medicines, Rural Health Unit’s authorized personnel; members of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and Responders Team; barangay officials and tanods, Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams, General Services Office and Sanitation personnel.
Barangay officials, tanods and police personnel were pos teed at the exit and entry ways of the barangay.
The Provincial Health Office recorded a total of 127 confirmed cases in San Dionisio (as of June 5), wherein 42 were active, 84 recovered and one died./PN
