19-year-old yields P400-T ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – Monday’s late night operation led to the recovery of P400,000 worth of suspected shabu, police said.

The suspected illegal drugs contained in 14 plastic sachets were confiscated from the 19-year-old Joseph “Jack” Garrucho of Barangay Rizal, Silay City, Negros Occidental.

Garrucho was caught around 10:20 p.m. on Eusebio Street in Barangay 3, Silay City after he sold suspected shabu to an undercover police officer for P4,000.

Joint elements of the Silay City police station, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency staged the sting operation.

Aside from the suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, a cellphone and P1,240 cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug transactions were recovered from Garrucho, police said.

Garrucho, detained in the lockup cell of the Silay City police station, was facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
