ILOILO – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 6 has launched the first-ever DENR sa Barangay program in Brgy. Cayus, Pilar, Capiz.
Through the program, DENR has brought its various services to the barangay level, specifically on land disposition.
DENR executive regional director Jim Sampulna emphasized that all areas subject for titling can be applied with a title for free.
DENR already has the Survey Authority for the municipality of Pilar.
“Our survey team has the necessary equipment needed to conduct land survey and delineation. We will be processing land title applications for free,” Sampulna stressed.
Sampulna said DENR sa Barangay will also be replicated in other areas of the region.
The program launching was graced by Sampulna and local officials of Capiz headed by Gov. Victor Tanco, Pilar’s Mayor Gideon Ike Patricio and all his 24 barangay leaders.
DENR Region 6 also brought the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officers (PENROs) from the provinces of Aklan and Antique.
Gov. Tanco lauded the DENR for coming up with this program that will allow his constituents easy access to DENR’s services.
Barangay Captain Genaro Binondo of Cayus was so elated that his barangay folks are the direct beneficiaries of this first-ever DENR sa Barangay.
“We hope to serve more people through this program,” said PENR Officer Valentin Talabero./PN
