ILOILO City – Two persons were arrested in Barangay Bagacay, San Rafael, Iloilo for allegedly possessing unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
Joven Bascoguin, 41, was a resident of Barangay Antonio, Sara, Iloilo while Enrico Patna, 47, was from Barangay Mulawon, Concepcion, Iloilo. They were flagged down at a police checkpoint around 9:40 p.m. on May 3.
Two .9mm-caliber pistols with ammunition and a magazine of a .45-caliber pistol with bullets were recovered from their possession.
They failed to present licenses and permits to carry the firearms, police said.
The suspects were detained at the San Rafael police station.
They face charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
