2 arrested for illegal fishing

ILOILO City – Two men were arrested in Barangay San Salvador, Banate, Iloilo for illegal fishing.
Jerson Are and Ernesto Legaspi, both residents of Barangay San Salvador, were detained at the Banate police station on Nov. 13.
Charged with violation of Republic Act 8550 or the Philippine Fisheries Code, the two were issued with arrest warrants by Judge Roselito Amador of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 66.
As of this writing, it was unclear if the suspects were able to post bail. The court set their bail bond at P20,000 each.
Meanwhile, the municipal Bantay Dagat of Nueva Valencia, Guimaras apprehended a 42-year-old man for alleged illegal fishing.
Felix Pulido of Barangay Lanipe, Nueva, Valencia was caught in the waters of Barangay Guiwanon, also in the same town.
Around 11:10 a.m. on Nov. 13 Pulido was taken to the municipal police station./PN
