BACOLOD City — Two people were behind the death of the man found hogtied in a sugarcane field in Murcia town, the victim’s wife claimed.
Al Quin Saldo’s wife, Melanie, told the Murcia police about her suspects.
Police, however, were yet to verify their identities. After which, they file charges against them.
Saldo, 40, of Hope Village, Barangay Cabatangan, Talisay City, was found dead on July 27 in Purok Arceo, Barangay Alegria, Murcia.
He had gunshot wounds in the left ear, chest, and abdomen. He was hogtied and blindfolded, and his mouth was taped.
Melanie claimed that Saldo left their house onboard a motorcycle on Friday evening, July 25, to attend a vigil for a deceased relative in Barangay Minoyan, Murcia.
She was supposed to go with her husband but chose to stay behind to attend to their 8-year-old schoolchild. She told him she will follow on Saturday.
Melanie said she was in constant contact with Saldo through text message on July 25 but was already unable to reach him the following day.
The motorcycle Saldo was riding was nowhere to be found.
Residents near the sugarcane field said they heard two gunshots on Friday night./PN
