CUSTOMERS will now have to limit purchase of alcohol and other disinfectants following a notice from the Trade Department on Friday.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in a statement said retailers were encouraged to “strictly implement a ‘two bottles per transaction policy’” for alcohol, hand sanitizers and other basic disinfectants.
This shall apply to all stores and branches nationwide.
DTI said the measure aims was meant to ensure the availability of supply and reasonable prices.
“This measure will mitigate the risk of artificial shortage of supply, stop panic buying and prevent hoarding for resale at an overpriced rate,” the DTI said.
DTI encouraged everyone to work with available resources to allow others to have their fair share of these basic goods.
“We suggest you manage and stretch your current inventory to accommodate all consumers as much as possible,” the DTI said. (GMA News)
