ILOILO City – Two “Akyat Bahay” suspects were arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 29, for illegal drugs and a homemade firearm in Barangay Bayuyan, Estancia, Iloilo.
Raffy Buenaflor, 33, and his elder brother, Ronald, 37, both of Barangay Cano-an, Estancia, were taken to the local police station.
According to Estancia police chief, Police Lieutenant Arniel Buraga, the Buenaflor brothers were arrested in a buy-bust operation. An undercover policeman bought from them four sachets of suspected shabu worth P3,500.
The older brother was also found with a .38 revolver and two rounds of ammunition.
“They were under surveillance for many days,” Buraga said.
“May kaso sila na pagnanakaw at ang stolen items ay ibinibenta sa bayan ng Pavia tapos ibinibili ng droga,” Buraga added.
The suspects were charged with violations of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and an additional case for the elder Buenaflor for violation of RA 10591, or Illegal Possession of Unlicensed Firearm./PN
