ILOILO City – Three people were wounded during a vehicular crash in Prime Estates Iloilo, Hechanova Street, Barangay Nabitasan, La Paz district.
Victorino Selga, Alfredo Sumagaysay and Edgar Jalea were all on board a Toyota Tamaraw FX wagon (registration plate number GHC-938). Selga was driving.
An Isuzu mu-X sport utility vehicle (conduction sticker number DOE914) collided against their car at around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a police report showed.
The SUV was overtaking a preceding vehicle but its driver lost control and the vehicle “spun” and “skidded,” and hit the wagon on the opposite lane, stated the police report.
Selga, 47, of Villa Carmela Subdivision in Zarraga, Iloilo, was wounded on the right leg, left leg and right hand.
He was taken to St. Paul’s Hospital Iloilo along with Jalea, 53, of Barangay San Juan, Molo district, who was wounded on the mouth and had pains on both knees and the hips.
Meanwhile Sumagaysay, 69, of Westwoods Subdivision in Barangay Dungon C, Mandurriao district, had broken arms, wounds on the head and right leg, and scratch on the right knee. He was taken to the Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital.
The wagon sustained “heavy damage” on the front, police said. The report provided a similar description to the right rear of the SUV.
SUV driver Jerry Giloryao, 50, of Uswag Subdivision in Barangay San Isidro, Jaro district turned himself in to the police./PN
