SAN JOSE, Antique – The Antique Police Provincial Office will deploy around 600 officers during the June 4 school opening to ensure the safety of students.
Under the “Balik Eskwela Program,” police officers will be detailed in populated schools and along highways to prevent any untoward incidents, according to Superintendent Norby Escobar.
“Two police personnel will be assigned in every school for a week starting June 4,” he said on Thursday.
The Antique National School and the Delegate Angel Salazar Jr. Memorial School in this capital town are among the schools that will have police detail.
Officers will also conduct a “Red Team” operation to monitor and ensure police visibility, Escobar said.
“We appeal to parents to guide their minor children when crossing streets to prevent vehicular accidents,” he said.
Moreover, parents should advise their children to be wary of snatchers who target their valuables, like cellphones, Escobar added. (PNA)
