2-day ops net P6.64-M illegal drugs, 17 suspects in WV

ILOILO City – Relentless anti-narcotics operations in Western Visayas for two days led to the confiscation of illegal drugs worth approximately P6.64 million.

Data from the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) showed that various police units seized around 960 grams of suspected shabu and 975 grams of marijuana from 6 a.m. on February 22 to 5:59 a.m. on February 24.

The Bacolod City Police Office recorded the biggest drug haul, seizing drugs valued at P4.18 million from six suspects, followed by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office withP1.76 million worth of illegal drugs recovered.

Police operatives also apprehended 17 drug suspects, including five high-value targets.

All suspects were under police custody, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
