BACOLOD City – In line with the ongoing celebration of the 45th MassKara Festival, the city government has implemented a two-day road closure along the highway near the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC).

The road closure (October 18 and 20) aims to accommodate two major music events featuring well-known celebrities and artists, with concerts taking place at the BCGC grounds.

Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez issued Executive Order No. 057, which approved the Traffic Management Plan of the Bacolod Traffic and Transport Management Department (BTTMD) for these events.

The order highlights the need for traffic re-routing to ensure the safety and security of attendees, given the large crowds expected at the concerts.

As per the order, Circumferential Road between St. Francis Avenue and The Upper East Avenue (Megaworld) will be fully closed from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. on both event days.

All trucks using Circumferential Road are advised to take the Bacolod Negros Occidental Economic Highway (BANOCEH) as an alternative route.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bacolod City Engineering District has issued a traffic advisory urging motorists to use the BANOCEH route starting October 18. District Engineer Abraham Villareal confirmed that the highway, which stretches from Barangay Sum-ag to the Bacolod-Silay Airport Access Road in Talisay City, is now fully operational.

Motorists can also access the Bacolod-San Carlos Road (Alijis Road) and the Bacolod City Boundary Road (Burgos Street) through BANOCEH.

Another large crowd is anticipated during the MassKara Music Festival along Lacson Tourism Strip from October 25 to 27.

The city urges the public to follow traffic advisories to minimize inconvenience during the festivities./PN
