ILOILO City – Two men were arrested for allegedly stealing mobile phones of people working at a construction site at the Iloilo Fish Port in Barangay Baybay Tanza.
Mark David Pendon, 20, and Joel Abellar, 32 – both residents of Zone 4, Barangay Baluarte, Molo district – were detained at Police Station 1.
They were accused of taking the cellphones of Rolando Hieden, 30, and Marie Cantiveros, 22, while the latter were asleep at the construction site around 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 19, a police report showed.
Hieden of Barangay San Isidro, Bunawan, Davao City and Cantiveros of Barangay Baybay Tanza, City Proper were a construction worker and a helper, respectively, at Super Krimer Construction Co., the police report said.
They sought help from roving fish port security guard Mark Anthony Villanueva, who arrested Pendon and Abellar and turned them over to Police Station 1.
Recovered from the suspects were the Cherry Mobile cellphone worth P4,700 owned by Hieden and the Samsung cellphone worth P3,500 owned by Cantiveros./PN
