ILOILO City – An afternoon fire left eight houses destroyed and three others damaged at a relocation site in Barangay Buntatala, Jaro district yesterday.
The fire that affected a total of 28 families or 89 individuals broke out at around 2 p.m. and reached the third alarm status at 2:21 p.m. The fire was contained at 2:58 p.m.
Authorities said two individuals suffered injuries. A 23-year-old male sustained second degree burn while another 23-year-old male had punctured wound. They were both given immediate medical attention.
As of this writing, arson investigators have yet to determine the total cost of damage and the blaze’s origin./PN
