2 injured in Mandurriao road mishap

ILOILO City – Two persons sustained minor injuries. The angkar-angkar they were riding crashed into a pickup in Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao district around 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1.

The injured were Allan Portillo and a certain “Maricel” while the driver of the angkar-angkar was Norman Saputin Sr., 44. All were residents of Barangay Pal-agon Pavia, Iloilo.

According to Police Executive Master Sergeant Alfredo Masamong of the Mandurriao police station, the Nissan Navarra pickup was headed towards Barangay San Rafael. At an intersection, it was hit by the angkar-angkar loaded with vegetables to be delivered to the Iloilo Terminal Market.

Portillo’s foot got bruised. Maricel complained of body pain.

Norman was unharmed.

The Mandurriao police impounded the angkar-angkar for not having pertinent documents.

Both parties reached a settlement, the police added./PN
