ILOILO City – A motorcycle running fast hit a road curb in Barangay Camambugan, Santa Barbara, Iloilo on Monday, hurling into the highway its occupants.
Two died. Francisco Libuna and Ricky Baldezer, 26, were both construction workers.
One was hurt – the 42-year-old Roger Camarig.
A curb, or kerb, is the edge where a raised sidewalk or road median/central reservation meets a street or other roadway.
The vehicular accident happened around 6:45 a.m., according to Senior Police Officer 1 Jun Dick Retazo of Santa Barbara.
All the three men were residents of Barangay Binolosan Pequeño, Calinog, Iloilo.
Concerned citizens took the three men to the Western VIsayas Sanitarium in Santa Barbara.
Baldezer was driving the motorcycle. He and Libuna died of severe head injuries, said Retazo.
As of this writing, Camarig was still confined at the Western VIsayas Sanitarium.
Retazo said the three men were headed to the municipality of Oton to work./PN
