AKLAN – Two were killed and seven others were injured in a road accident in Nabas, Aklan, on Monday afternoon.
The victims, together with other family members who were onboard an elf truck, were supposed to have a family outing at Hurom-Hurom Cold Spring Resort in Nabas .
However, the driver lost control due to a tire burst. The vehicle skidded and some family members were thrown out.
Police identified the fatalities as Monica Villanueva, 19, of Barangay Baybay, Makato, Aklan, and two-year-old Ma. Cassandra Manansala of Barangay Ochando, New Washington, Aklan.
More than 20 family members were onboard the said elf truck.
The victims were rushed to the nearest hospital, but Villanueva and Manansala were declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. The injured persons, meanwhile, underwent treatment./PN
