ILOILO City – For alleged illegal fishing, two men were apprehended in Barangay Tanao, Batad, Iloilo.
They were Jomarie Cabatana, 25, and Marcelino Villaruel, 43 – both residents of Barangay Daan Banwa, Estancia, Iloilo.
Personnel of the local Bantay Dagat chanced upon them off the waters of Barangay Barangay Tanao around 3 a.m. on Jan. 23.
The two were brought to the Batad police station, facing charges for violation of Section 82 of Municipal Ordinance No. 03-27 Series of 2003 that outlaws fishing without permit./PN
