ILOILO City – Two men separately charged with sexual offenses have been arrested on Thursday, police reports showed.
Enrique Gonzales has been accused of violating Section 5 (b) of Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
This provision of the law stipulates the penalty for “those who commit the act of sexual intercourse of lascivious conduct with a child exploited in prostitution or subject to other sexual abuse.”
Officers served Gonzales a warrant of arrest at around 12:30 p.m. on General Luna Street, Barangay San Agustin, City Proper.
The court set the bail bond for his temporary liberty at P200,000.
Earlier that day Iglecerio Asutado was arrested in Barangay Poblacion, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras.
Asutado has been charged with “rape by carnal knowledge.”
Officers served the suspect a warrant of arrest at around 9 a.m.
The court did not recommend a bail bond for this temporary liberty./PN
