ILOILO City – The police stations of Mandurriao, Arevalo and La Paz districts have new police chiefs.
According to Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, regional police director, the performance of these police stations’ previous chiefs in the campaign against illegal drugs, among others, was not impressive.
Chief Inspector Engelbert Banquillo is the new Mandurriao police commander replacing Chief Inspector Juvy Navales.
He used to be the deputy chief of the Iloilo City Mobile Force Company.
Chief Inspector Ariel Pico from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office replaced Senior Inspector Jose Val Ladublan as chief of the La Paz police station.
On the other hand, Senior Inspector Eduardo Siacon Jr., team leader of the Iloilo City Police Office’s Special Weapons and Tactics, took over the post of Senior Inspector Mary Grace Borio at the Arevalo police station.
Navales was transferred to the Bacolod City Police Office while Ladublan was moved to Antique. Borio’s new assignment is at the Aklan Police Provincial Office.
The three were among the police officers that Bulalacao relieved from their posts on July 23. According to the director, they had no accomplishments to show in the campaign against illegal drugs from June 1 to 30.
The Regional Senior Officers Placement and Promotion Board reviewed the performance of these police chiefs.
“Sinabihan ko na sila when I assumed office na I will assess their operational performance para malaman ko kung sino ang tamad na police chiefs,” said Bulalacao.
The police director said “good deeds and exemplary performance will be quickly acknowledged and rewarded, while mediocre performance and misbehavior will be swiftly sanctioned and not tolerated.”/PN
