Two million pesos was allocated by the Local Unit Government Unit (LGU) of Calinog, Iloilo to purchase COVID-19 vaccines.
Their target, according to Calinog Mayor Francisco Calvo, is to provide vaccines to the estimated 5, 000 front liners and senior citizens in the municipality.
The LGU also plans to supply vaccines to health care workers, barangay officials, Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams, volunteers, and personnel from the Municipal Health Office (MHO) and quarantine facilities. Calvo said he and MHO personnel have visited 59 barangays in Calinog to conduct surveys and an advocacy campaign.
The mayor explained he is ready to be one of the first to receive the vaccines to encourage the public and assure them of its safety./PN
