ILOILO City – Two minors allegedly used as illegal drug couriers were arrested in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Arevalo district.

More or less five grams of suspected shabu were recovered from a 17-year-old female student of Zone 2, Barangay Calaparan, Arevalo and a 15-year-old male student of Barangay Rizal Estanzuela, City Proper.

They handed one plastic sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P12,000 around 7:45 p.m. on Monday, July 24.

The girl claimed that her uncle, a certain “Lindo” of Oton, Iloilo, ordered her to deliver the item wrapped in a black facemask.

Police Captain Glenn A. Soliman of the Police Regional Office 6’s Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU-6), in an interview with XFM Iloilo, said “Lindo” was their main target.

“Actually, ang ka-transaction naton was ang tiyo gid, si alyas ‘Lindo’, but amo ni ang modus niya. Ginapadul-ong niya ang mga hinablos niya nga minors para daw indi bala dismolado,” Soliman said.

The operation was conducted by the RPDEU-6 in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 6.

“Kaagi na siya [‘Lindo’] dakpan muna nga daw medyo wise siya sa iya transaction. So tan-awon ta subong ano pwede ta nga action,” Soliman added.

The minors were turned over to the Women and Children Protection Desk of the Iloilo City Police Station 6./PN
