ILOILO City – Two residents of Iloilo province were arrested for soliciting bets for the illegal numbers game “bookies.”
Separate operations led to the arrest of Oscar Soronila, 53, and Siana Rose Tañagras, 29, a police report showed.
Soronila was caught in Barangay Salihid, Barotac Nuevo town where he also lived at 3:45 p.m. on July 6.
Bet money worth P220 was seized from him. The suspect was detained at the Barotac Nuevo police station.
Hours later Tañagras was caught, too.
The resident of Barangay Parara Sur, Tigbauan was detained at the municipal police station.
Tañagras yielded bet money worth P110 and gambling paraphernalia.
