ILOILO City – Two persons were arrested in Barangay Zone 5, Santa Barbara, Iloilo.
Aida Superioredad, 61, and Jade Suase, 32, were both residents of the town.
They were caught soliciting bets for the Peryahan ng Bayan around 11 a.m. on July 13, police said.
Recovered from them were P304 bet money and gambling paraphernalia.
According to the cops, the suspects violated Republic Act 9287, which increases penalties for illegal numbers games, amending certain provisions of Presidential Decree No. 1602.
They were placed under the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group./PN
