ILOILO City – Two police provincial directors in Region 6 were relieved from their posts – Police Colonel Julio Gustilo of the Guimaras Police Provincial Office (GPPO) and Police Colonel Lupe Manlapas of the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO).
The order was from the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) national headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City and released on April 30 yet, according to Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).
The two police officers were “already too familiar” with their respective assignments, said Malong.
Gustilo already reached the end of his two-year tour of duty at the GPPO while Manlapas was almost two years with the APPO.
As of this writing, replacements of the two officers were yet to be announced.
Gustilo’s new assignment is at the PNP Aviation Security Group in Camp Crame while Manlapas’ is yet to be determined.
“We are relieving police officers serving their posts for more than two years already to ensure a balanced, efficient and productive leadership in the PNP organization,” said Police Brigadier General John Bulalacao, regional police director.
It is also the PNP’s policy to look into the career advancement of its officers, he added.
“Reassignments are part of police officers’ preparation for future assignments especially as mangers and leaders,” said Bulalacao.
The police director said he has “full trust and confidence” to those who would be named as replacements of Gustilo and Manpalas./PN
