BACOLOD City – Two rape suspects have been arrested in Hinoba-an town and Victorias City in Negros Occidental.
Rogelio Ebon Jr., 21, of Barangay Tooy, Himamaylan City and Hubert Mahilum, 50, of Barangay 6, Victorias City were detained after their separate arrests on Wednesday.
Officers caught Ebon at around 10:30 a.m. in Barangay 1, Hinoba-an, said Chief Inspector Jerry Nacion, municipal police head.
They served him a warrant of arrest that Judge Rosario Ester Orda-Caise of the Regional Trial Court Branch 61 (Kabankalan City) issued on Nov. 19, 2014.
Ebon was detained at the Hinoba-an police station while awaiting transfer to a Bureau of Jail Management and Penology facility.
On the same day officers caught Mahilum at around 5:20 p.m. in Ditching Subdivision, Barangay 5, Victorias City, said Chief Inspector Eduardo Corpuz, city police head.
Mahilum was charged with two counts of rape.
Police served him a warrant of arrest that Judge Ana Celeste P. Bernad of the RTC Branch 69 (Silay City) issued just this Monday, Dec. 10.
Mahilum was detained at the Victorias City police station.
The courts did not set a bail bond for both suspects./PN
