2 rape suspects fall

BACOLOD City – Two men charged with rape were arrested in the cities of Victorias and Sagay in Negros Occidental on Thursday.

One of them is the 26-year-old Richard Saga of Barangay 19, Victorias City, a police report showed.

Saga faces two counts of rape before the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 69 in Silay City.

Police caught Saga on the strength of an arrest warrant that Judge Ana Celeste Bernad of RTC Branch 69 issued on Oct. 5.

Saga was detained in the lockup cell of the Victorias City police station.

The court recommended a P200,000 bail bond for his temporary liberty.

In Sagay City, police arrested the 54-year-old Cifriano Solivion Jr. of Purok Lamak, Barangay Bonifacio.

Retired Judge Renato Munez of RTC Branch 60 in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental ordered Solivion’s arrest.

Munez issued the warrant of arrest against Solivion on July 18, 2003.

Solivion was detained in the Sagay City police station lockup facility. It was not immediately clear if a bail bond was recommended for his temporary liberty./PN
