ILOILO City – In Barangay Airport, Mandurriao district, two suspected drug peddlers had been arrested.
The Mandurriao police identified them as “down-lines” of slain drug lord Richard Prevendido.
The 27-year-old villager Marion Mationg and live-in partner Jessica Chavez, 35, of Barangay Baybay Tanza, City Proper were detained at the Mandurriao police station, said the police.
Seven plastic packs of suspected shabu were seized from the suspects during a buy-bust operation at around 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
A sling bag and P600 cash were further confiscated from the suspects.
Mationg and Chavez face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The Mandurriao police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 6 staged the operation.
Citing investigation, Chief Inspector Juvy Navales, Mandurriao police chief, identified them as “down-lines” of Prevendido.
Mationg was detained at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology facility in Barangay Ungka, Jaro and recently released while Chavez was a drug surrenderer at Police Station 1, she said.
Still citing investigation, Navales said the live-in couple get their stocks from Barangay Bakhaw. (With Ruby Silubrico/PN)
