2 Talisay men yield P15,000 ‘marijuana’

BACOLOD City – Two drug suspects were arrested 10:30 p.m. Friday at Fisheries Avenue, Barangay Zone 2, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, yielding sachets of suspected dried marijuana leaves.

Superintendent Boots Aseo, Talisay City police head, identified the suspects as John Mark Alimon Lagura, 22, of Gamboa Subdivision, Barangay Zone 2, Talisay City; and Levin Earnshaw Salem, 23, of Phase II Block 9, Menlo Village, Barangay Zone 10, Talisay City.

Seized from Lagura were 16 sachets of suspected dried marijuana leaves with an estimated market value of P15,000. Meanwhile, Salem yielded one plastic sachet of suspected dried marijuana leaves and one cellular phone.

The suspects have been detained at the Talisay City lockup facility, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
