BACOLOD City – Due to an argument over an electric bill, two female boarders were stabbed by their fellow boarder on Friday evening on Jacinto Street, Barangay 4, Hinigaran town.
Cyd Gayanilo Martelino, 35, a resident of Barangay Gargato in the town, and Jovy Tondo Luceño, 23, a resident of Barangay Panaquiao, Isabela sustained several stab wounds.
Investigation disclosed that the two were allegedly stabbed by the 67-year-old Alex Jovenes Quilantang.
Police said Quilantang got upset after he was charged more than what he usually pays for his electric bill.
The suspect, who claimed he does not have appliances except for one electric fan, reportedly got furious at the victims after they asked him for his contribution.
Quilantang then went out of his room and stabbed Martelino, hitting her back. Martelino attempted to thrust another stab, wounding her palm.
Police added Luceño held the shirt of the suspect and grappled for the kitchen knife but the suspect stabbed her left leg.
Martelino helped Luceño and was able to snatch the knife from the suspect. She stabbed the suspect on the leg.
The two women then ran outside the house and asked for help.
The two were brought to Hinigaran Emergency Clinic for treatment and were later transferred to Bacolod City Hospital for further medical attention.
The suspect was also confined at Bacolod City Hospital for treatment.
Police recovered along the street one kitchen knife, measuring around 10 inches from tip to handle./PN
