2020 Asian Nations Online Cup

As reported recently, the 2020 Asian Nations Online Cup ended with victories for Iran in the Open Division and India in the Women’s Division with the Philippines placing second in both divisions. The error in the report is that what we reported turned out to be just the result of a qualifying stage of the tournament where the top eight teams in each division advanced to a quarterfinal stage of knockout matches to be played Oct. 23 online. So it’s clear the tournament is not over yet, after all, and there are no champions in each division yet. Sorry for this unintended oversight.

So the qualifiers in the Open are Iran, Philippines, Mongolia, Australia, Indonesia, India, Kazakhstan and Singapore; while the women qualifiers are India, Philippines, Iran, Vietnam, Mongolia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Kyrgyzstan. The quarterfinal knock out matches in the Open will thus be Iran vs. Singapore, Kazakhstan vs. Philippines, Mongolia vs. India and Indonesia vs. Australia. In the women’s, the pairings will be India vs. Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka vs. Philippines, Iran vs. Indonesia and Mongolia vs. Vietnam. The winners in these KO matches will advance to the semifinal round.

Here are some games of our Filipina players in the qualifier:
