MANILA — Malacañang has challenged Baguio City’s Mayor Benjamin Magalong to show proof about his claim that the 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA) is being used as an “election fund.”
According to Presidential Communications Office’s Undersecretary Claire Castro, it would be “better” if Magalong provided her the evidence so she could take a look into the issues surrounding the national budget.
Magalong said House lawmakers received social amelioration funds when they joined House of Representatives Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez’s out-of-town engagements.
Castro also said the Palace is willing to help Magalong if there is really a threat to his life after the latter said that he had been receiving death threats since he exposed the alleged corruption in the House.
