ILOILO City – In a sweeping crackdown on illegal gambling, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) has arrested 204 individuals across Western Visayas.
The police also confiscated over P45,600 in bet money, as part of a 15-day campaign that spanned from June 1 to June 15.
The operations involved multiple police units within the region, with 71 targeted actions aimed at curtailing the illegal gambling activities.
The arrests were distributed among various provincial police offices as follows:
* Aklan – six
* Antique – five
* Capiz – nine
* Guimaras – six
* Iloilo – 11
* Negros Occidental – 130
* Bacolod City – 37
Brigadier General Jack Wanky, the director of PRO-6, praised the policemen’s coordinated efforts.
“These accomplishments reflect your dedication and commitment to duty. Let’s continue and intensify our campaign against illegal gambling and all forms of illegal activities in your respective areas of responsibility,” he urged his officers./PN
