
KALIBO, Aklan – Nearly 21,000 people in Priority Group A have been vaccinated in Aklan with their first dose of the vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), data from the Department of Health (DOH) Region 6 showed.
The figure represented 14.93 percent of the 140,019 persons listed for AstraZeneca and CoronaVac (Sinovac) vaccination as of June 13.
Sinovac first doses were received by 14,263 persons (10.19 percent) while 6,643 got their first dose of AstraZeneca.
Of the listed vaccine recipients, 8,774 have been fully inoculated (completed two doses) or 6.27 percent.
For healthcare workers and frontliners, Aklan had administered 10,310 first doses or 76.06 percent of the 13,552 eligible population.
Meanwhile, 58.83 percent of healthcare workers and front liners already received their second dose of Sinovac or AstraZeneca vaccines.
The province also vaccinated 17.19 percent or 9,645 senior citizens out of 56,100 for first doses, while the number of senior citizens who got their second doses were 801 or 1.43 percent.
For persons with comorbidities, 6.29 percent or 951 individuals out of 15,131 eligible recipients had their jabs.
To date, the province received 24,546 first doses of AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines from DOH, of which, 85.17 percent or 20,906 doses were utilized.
The health department also delivered 18,546 second vaccine doses for Aklan. Of this figure, the province utilized 47.31 percent or 8,774 second doses./PN
