ROXAS City – A surprise inspection recently conducted at the main public market here led to the seizure of 22 weighing scales found to be defective.
Roxas City Environmental Sanitation and Enforcement Team head Primo Golingay said these weighing scale were confiscated mostly from fish and fruit vendors at the Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center.
Golingay added they want ensure the protection of residents against unscrupulous traders.
“Ang aton intention amo nga madakop ang mga manogbaligya nga naga pamentaha sa mga bumalakal kag agud tapnaon ang mga nagagamit sang kilohan nga wala calibrate kag wala selyo,” Golingay told Panay News.
The Wednesday’s surprise inspection was in line with the directive of Roxas City mayor Ronnie Dadivas, Golingay explained.
“We will coordinate this matter to the Department of Trade and Industry so that we can proceed with whatever course of action we need to take in order to protect our consumers,” he said./PN
