23 GSIS employees contract COVID

ILOILO City – Twenty-three employees of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Iloilo Branch tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as of May 30.

The GSIS relayed the information through a public advisory.

Last week, two employees were found with the virus. Contact tracing and disinfecting were then conducted.

“In view of the recommendation of the GSIS Medical and Wellness Services Department (MWSD) and the Iloilo City Health Office, the GSIS Iloilo Branch Office will be temporarily closed until June 6, 2021 (tentative),” part of the advisory read.

The temporary closure will give way for mass testing and the quarantine of infected personnel.

But GSIS’ operation will continue “remotely.”

“The Branch Office will continue to operate remotely with all its officers and employees performing their function under alternative work arrangements,” the advisory read.

Clients are advised to use the following modes of transaction:

* DROP BOX

– filing of claims benefit

– filing of loan applications

– filing of reconciliation requests, Statement of Account or Clearance

– submission of Self-Declaration of Pendency/ No Pending Case

– submission of other documentary requirement

* GWAPS Kiosk

– loan applications

– updating of email address and contact numbers

– Annual pensioner’s Information Re-validation (APIR)

– members’ record verification
