JORDAN, Guimaras – The number of residents here fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has reached 2,356 as of Aug. 3, data from the Rural Health Unit (RHU) showed.
Of these residents, 1,347 got two doses of Sinovac vaccine, nine got two doses of AstraZeneca and 1,000 got the single-shot Janssen.
Dr. Robel Gencianeo, municipal health officer, urged more residents to get vaccinated. They should coordinate with the RHU and/o r their Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERTs) for registration.
“Once you are scheduled for vaccination, please prepare yourself,” said Gencianeo – get enough sleep, eat well, avoid alcoholic drinks, drink plenty of water.
After vaccination, Gencianeo said, the following may or may not be felt: pain or swelling at the injection site, fever or chills, body malaise or fatigue, dizziness or headache.
If there’s chest pain, difficulty of breathing and/or skin rashes, see a doctor, he added.
But even if fully vaccinated already, Gencianeo said, people should continue observing following health standards – wearing of facemask and face shield in public, physical distancing and proper hand washing.
