240 slots open for DOST int’l training scholarship program

ILOILO City – The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) announced the 240 slots available for grab offering for international scholarship program.

The said scholarship program is under the DOST-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD).

According to a press release sent by DOST, the scholarship is open for Engineering Research and Development for Technology (ERDT)/ Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program (ASTHRDP) Scholars; ERDT/ASTHDRP and State University College (SUC) Faculty with at least Master’s degree, Researchers of the DOST Research and Development Institutes and Service Institutes, and DOST Council technical personnel.

In addition, interested participants should have a three-year service in any unit or laboratory of the sending institution and six months in the present project. An endorsement from the institution is required in case the applicant has not achieved the said qualifications.

Age requirement is until 50 years old as of March 15 and the training date should not end later than December 15, 2015.

The training will involve on topics which include Numerical Modeling; Data Analysis; Space Technology Applications; Sensor Technology; Computer Vision Technology; Photovoltaic and Solar Cell Technology; Genomics; Molecular Biology; Biomedical Engineering; Rubber Science/ Engineering; Metals Engineering; Waste Treatment Techniques; Microscopy and Imaging; Nanotechnology Techniques; Technology Transfer/Commercialization and Technology Forecasting.

The international scholarship program will cover the roundtrip airfare, daily subsistence allowance for training not exceeding fourteen days or monthly living allowance, training fees, travel insurance, incidentals such as visa fees, health insurance.

Upon completion of the training program, the scholar should render three years of service in the country./PN
