2,525 Sibalom residents fully vaccinated vs COVID

SIBALOM, Antique – As of Aug. 31, 2,525 residents here have been fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Of these residents, 1,164 got two doses of Sinovac, 1,235 were administered with the single-dose Janssen and 126 were inoculated with the two-dose AstraZeneca.  

According to the Municipal Health Office (MHO), the fully vaccinated were healthcare workers, senior citizens, person with comorbidities, and economic frontliners.

Meanwhile, 3,291 other residents have gotten their first doses and are now waiting for their second doses. They were vaccinated with either AstraZeneca (304), Sinovac (2,773), Sputnik V (82), and Moderna (132).

Vaccination using Moderna started on Aug. 18 and targeted senior citizens, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and the indigent.

The Antique provincial government allotted 282 doses of Moderna to Sibalom; so far, 132 doses were used.

MHO appealed to more Sibalomnons to have themselves vaccinated against COVID-19; they should coordinate with their barangay health centers and/or village officials, it said./PN
