261 nabbed for illegal gambling in WV

ILOILO City – Different police units across Western Visayas apprehended 261 individuals from 96 anti-illegal gambling operations carried out from May 1 to May 15.

Data from the Police Regional Office 6’s (PRO-6) Regional Operations Division also showed that P95,414.50 in bet money was confiscated.

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (PPO) topped with the most number of arrests at 134, followed by the Bacolod City Police Office (CPO) (35), Antique PPO (27), Iloilo PPO (20), Capiz PPO (18), Iloilo CPO (17), and Aklan PPO (10).

Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, director of PRO-6, commended the field commanders and their men for their successful efforts in curbing illegal gambling activities.

“Keep up the good work. Motivate our personnel to always work harder against illegal gambling and other illegal activities,” Wanky said./PN
