SAN JOSE, Antique – From being recipients of the Modified Conditional Cash Transfer (MCCT) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), 261 indigent households are now mainstreamed as regular Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries.
The move came after a validation showing that these indigent families were no longer living in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA).
Jeffrey Gabucay, Pantawid provincial link for Antique, said these household beneficiaries used to live in the hinterland villages of Valderrama like San Agustin and Lublob, which fell under GIDA.
They have transferred to barangays Bulwangan and Pandanan, which were non-GID areas, said Gabucay.
These households will now be required to comply with the conditions set by the 4Ps that anchored on health and education of their children 0-18 years old for them to receive cash grants.
GIDA beneficiaries are those who have not received basic services from the government and are living in places with no road network.
The 4Ps conditions are the following:
* pregnant women must avail pre- and post-natal care, and be attended during childbirth by a trained professional
* parents or guardians must attend the family development sessions, which include topics on responsible parenting, health, and nutrition
* children aged 0-5 must receive regular preventive health check-ups and vaccines
* children aged 6-14 must receive deworming pills twice a year, and
* children-beneficiaries aged 3-18 must enroll in school, and maintain an attendance of at least 85 percent of class days every month. (PNA)
