ILOILO City – The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) will deploy a total of 27 ambulances and 20 ground teams composed of 164 personnel for this year’s Dinagyang Festival highlights – the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan on Jan. 21 and the Dinagyang sa Barangay tribes competition on Jan. 22.
According to Darwin Papa of the CDRRMO, eight ambulances will be on standby at the Freedom Grandstand, three at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol area, four on Quezon Street, three on Mapa Street, two at the food festival area, and seven for the strike teams.
“We currently have a total of 27 ambulances nga iga-deploy for the ‘D-day’ naton for the Jan. 21 and 22. So may mga nakapalibot sa judging areas naton pero indi ta man malikawan ang day to day emergencies naton. So, nag-deploy man ang city sang seven ambulances para sa strike teams nga iga-deploy sa Calumpang, Ungka, Balantang, and sa may Gaisano naton nga ICARE facility,” said Papa.
The CDRRMO will also deploy ambulances at SM City, Atria and Iloilo Business Park in Mandurriao district for the Dinagyang Ilomination and Floats Parade of Lights on the night of Jan. 21./PN
