JORDAN, Guimaras – A total of 27 job applicants were hired on the spot during the Guimaras Dragon Fruit Festival job fair on Sept. 29 at the provincial capitol grounds in Barangay San Miguel here.
The successful applicants included baggers, checkers, sales associate, security camera operator, service crew, team leader, customer assistant, store clerk, and cashier.
There were 103 qualified applicants qualified for the job vacancies but needed to submit additional or lacking requirements or need to take exam or attend further interview.
The one-day job fair registered 118 applicants.
Seven hundred sixty-one job vacancies were offered by 11 institutions that participated in the event.
The job fair ess one of the initiatives of the provincial government of Guimaras to provide avenue for local job seekers.
This was in line with the goal of the “Guimaras Dragon Fruit Fest: A Fresh Experience” to contribute to the recovery of the province’s economy./PN
